I took noticed in one of the practicums that a few of the kids were having some conflict. For example, the first one I saw was with the two little boys. One felt that the other boy was trying to hurt him, so with the teachers help they talked it out. I love the fact that at this age, kids can apologize and just move on and be friends again. Between teenage and adult hood, it is never that simple unfortunately. The second one was between the three little girls. One of them was really upset because she was basically being lied on by her friend and she did not like that. The friend did apologize for what she said however it still seemed like the little girl was upset. I applaud the teacher, because it is super important to talk to the children about their feelings because they are very crucial at their age. It was good that she continued to discuss how the little girls felt and explained to them that even though someone apologizes it is normal to still feel sad or upset. A child will always remember a teacher who was there for them and acknowledged their feelings. Reyah really impressed me through the whole video. Even though she had the small encounter with her friend, she began to cheer up and she was helping her other friend with her work and encouraging her once she was completing it. After the work was over, the two girl’s minds went to a whole other space. They begin to talk about “dog chairs” and was making little sound effects to go along with it. Reyah is also easily amused, she was stunned as to why she had two pencils in her hand. Then she talked about eating the pencil, they are eventually she talked about getting married to the pencil and was kissing it.
